}} Tyler David Goeddel (born October 20, 1992) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Washington Nationals organization. He made his MLB debut with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2016. CareerTampa Bay RaysGoeddel attended St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California. The Tampa Bay Rays selected Goeddel in the first round, with the 41st overall selection, of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.[1][2] He signed with the Rays and made his professional debut in 2012 with the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the Class A Midwest League, and also spent 2013 with Bowling Green. After the season, he played for the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League.[3] Goeddel played 2014 with the Charlotte Stone Crabs of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League and started 2015 with the Montgomery Biscuits of the Class AA Southern League. Philadelphia PhilliesThe Philadelphia Phillies selected Goeddel with the first pick of the 2015 Rule 5 draft.[4] He made the Phillies' Opening Day roster,[5] and debuted in the major leagues on April 6, 2016.[6] On May 18, 2016, he hit his first career home run off of Miami Marlins pitcher José Ureña.[7] Goeddel remained with the Phillies for the entire season. At the end of spring training in 2017, the Phillies optioned Goeddel to the Reading Fightin Phils of the Class AA Eastern League.[8] Cincinnati RedsBefore the season began, the Phillies designated Goedel for assignment so they could select the contract of Brock Stassi.[9] The Cincinnati Reds claimed him off of waivers and optioned him to the Louisville Bats of the Class AAA International League.[10] He was released from the organization on May 13, 2018. Los Angeles DodgersOn May 16, 2018, Goeddel signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.[11] He played in 51 games for the AA Tulsa Drillers, hitting .212 and also got into four games for AAA Oklahoma, with two hits in eight at-bats.[12] Washington NationalsOn January 21, 2019, Goeddel signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals.
