The initiative was launched by TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie with a $5,000,000 donation to organizations campaigning to end gun violence, the largest corporate donation ever made to this cause. [6] As part of the initiative, TOMS commissioned powerful gun violence murals across America. Ramsey spearheaded the mural project.[7] Other activitiesAlso in 2013, Ramsey was part of a plan to rescue human rights and free speech activist, Ali Abdulemam, from captivity in Bahrain. The plan became public when The Atlantic published an account of the scheme.[4] Personal lifeIn 2008, Ramsey met his future wife, Jacquie Berg, while working as a producer on Gabon. Forbidden from fraternising with contestants, Ramsey was fired for starting a relationship with Berg. He "disappeared" into the jungles of Gabon and returned two days later in search of alcohol.[8] Ramsey is a friend of actor Armie Hammer,[8] television producer Matt Kunitz, and founder of Toms Shoes, Blake Mycoskie.
