This family is one of the well-known families of Goud Saraswat Brahmins community, which has its origins in Kochi, Kerala, India.

They worship Shri Laxmi Venkatesh along with Kuladevata Shri Ramnath Shanteri Kamakshi at the family temple in Brahmavar, Udupi District.^[5]
