He is contested in the 13th Kerala Legislative Assembly election from Thiruvalla constituency as a UDF candidate. Early lifeHe was born to Thomas Mathew and Sosamma Mathew in 1962 in a Marthoma Christian family at Kozhencherry village[2] in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. He is married to Jyothi. They have a son and a daughter. Political careerMr. Thomas Started his political career in KSC(M) after completing college. He was loyal to K. M. Mani in his various posts in Kerala Congress (M): KSC(M) state president; Youth Front (M) state president; Kerala Congress (M) state general secretary; Kerala Congress (M) District president. He was also UDF District liaison committee chairman. He was Kozhencherry Grama Pachanchayath president for 10 continuous years. He was awarded for his performance as Grama Panchayath president by Youth Movement Guidance. He was the Chairman of Serifed for 5 years. His success as its chairman was recognized at national level. He was the first person to represent Kerala in the Indian Silk Board.
