It is located in the Nancowry tehsil.[1] It is populated by people from the former Trinket village, which was evacuated after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.[2] DemographicsAccording to the 2011 census of India, Vikas Nagar has 48 households. The effective literacy rate (i.e. the literacy rate of population excluding children aged 6 and below) is 74.27%.[3]
