}}Hyrcanogobius bergi, the Volga dwarf goby, is a species of goby endemic to the Caspian Sea where it occurs in fresh, brackish and marine waters along the coast. Unusually for gobies, this species is almost a pelagic fish. This species grows to a length of {{convert|3.6|cm|in}} SL. This species is the only known member of its genus.[2] The specific name honours the Soviet zoologist Lev Berg (1876-1950) who described many new species of goby from the Caspian Sea.[3] References1. ^{{cite journal | author1 = Freyhof, J. | author2 = Kottelat, M.| last-author-amp = yes | year = 2008 | title = Knipowitschia bergi | journal = The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | volume = 2008 | page = e.T135608A4160102 | doi = 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2008.RLTS.T135608A4160102.en}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q793416}}{{Gobiidae-stub}}2. ^{{FishBase species |genus= Hyrcanogobius|species= bergi| month = June | year = 2013}} 3. ^{{cite web | url = http://www.etyfish.org/gobiiformes5/ | title = Order GOBIIFORMES: Family GOBIIDAE (d-h) | accessdate= 1 September 2018 | author1 = Christopher Scharpf | author2 = Kenneth J.
