{{primary sources|date=October 2012}}

This is a list of the top ten bridge players in the world according to the World Bridge Federation 'Open Ranking' by Master Points (MPs) as maintained by the World Bridge Federation. Master Points earned more than one year ago are reduced annually by 15%. The list also includes the player's lifetime accumulation of Placing Points (PPs).[1] Accordingly, the table data is time sensitive and represents the standings based upon their recent performance as posted by the WBF on October 11, 2012.[1] There has been no update as of March 14, 2014.[3]

During one year from December 2011 to December 2012 (see table), there was no change in ranks 1–3 and 6–8. Versace surpassed his regular partner Lauria while the partners Helgemo and Helness moved up from ranks 12 and 14, in place of the Americans Zia Mahmood and Nick Nickell.[2] December 2011 rankings included the 40th Bermuda Bowl tournament, which the Netherlands had won in October, and the premier Open event during the next year was the tournament for national teams at the 2012 World Mind Sports Games, where Sweden, Poland, and Monaco finished first, second, and third.[3]

As of 2014, WBF has not revised these data online.[4] The premier event of 2013 was the 41st Bermuda Bowl tournament in September, where Italy, Monaco, and Poland finished first, second, and third.[5]
