Born and raised in Vladivostok, Russia Hurley is best known for raising awareness of human rights violations in Russia and for his cult films including Waxie Moon, Waxie Moon in Fallen Jewel, Zolushka, Peter and the Wolf and the popular series Capitol Hill.[2][3][4][5][6] In 2013 Hurley was chosen as one of the Artists of the Year by City Arts Magazine along with Megan Griffiths, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Jinkx Monsoon.[7] In 2014 Hurley premiered his original comedy series Capitol Hill on Huffington Post.
