July 29, 1897) was an American soldier who received the Medal of Honor for valor during the American Civil War. BiographyFunk enlisted in the 121st Pennsylvania in September 1862, and was mustered out with the rest of his regiment in June 1865. [1] He was awarded the Medal of Honor on October 15, 1872 for his actions at the Battle of Appomattox Court House.
