The church opened on 13 August 1862.[3] The front is dominated by the spire of 130 ft. OrganAn early organ was obtained from Forster and Andrews in 1899.[4] The current organ was obtained from St. Paul's Church in Northampton in 1993 and installed by Peter Wood.
