It premiered on August 13, 2014, and was created by and stars Jennette McCurdy in the lead role as Sarah Bronson. Sarah is an actress whose hit show got cancelled and subsequently her life gets even worse; her boyfriend breaks up with her and so instead of acting she wants to meet the real world.[1][2] The show is inspired by McCurdy's life in acting and Hollywood. The character Sarah Bronson is based loosely on her with some scenes based directly on actual events and others greatly exaggerated for comedic effect.[2] The series is written by McCurdy who also serves as the show's executive producer and lead editor. The show is Jennette's first foray into screenwriting and producing a show. PlotSarah Bronson (McCurdy), a young actress, finds out that her hit show has been cancelled. Due to this, her boyfriend breaks up with her and people are no longer interested in pictures with her or autographs from her. After trying to pick up new roles, she realizes that she wants to return to the real world and give acting a break for a while.[3] CastMain
