He has released three albums on Big Dada.[3] He has collaborated with musicians such as Shortee Blitz,[4] Drew Horley,[5] and Tony Allen.[6] Life and careerTy was born in London, into an Igbo family from Nigeria. His family had moved from Nigeria to the UK.[8] In the mid 1990s, Ty was involved in the Ghetto Grammar organization.[8] His first album, Awkward, was released on Big Dada in 2001.[8] Ty's second album, Upwards, was nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2004.[7] His third album, Closer, was released in 2006.[12] It featured guest appearances from De La Soul, Speech, Bahamadia, and Zion I, among others.[8] DiscographyAlbums
