It flows generally east from Whitewater Glacier on Mount Jefferson, west-southwest of Warm Springs in Jefferson County.[5] The river descends from {{convert|7847|ft|m}} at the source to {{convert|2218|ft|m}} at the mouth.[4][3] The stream lies entirely within the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.[5] See also
