}}Wilbur J. Cohen Federal Building (formerly the Social Security Administration Building) is an historic building at 330 Independence Avenue, Southwest, Washington, D.C.[2]

History

It was designed by Charles Klauder and Louis A. Simon, in the Stripped Classical style[2] in 1939.

On April 28, 1988, it was renamed the "Wilbur J. Cohen Federal Building".[3] On July 6, 2007, the Social Security Administration Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Voice of America and the U.S. Agency for Global Media are the building's main tenants. It moved there in 1954.[2]

According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), TV director Bernard L. Kowalski had prepared a 1962 television pilot (never aired) starring William Bendix, entitled "330 Independence SW". This is the address of the (later renamed) Wilbur J. Cohen Federal Building, which in 1962 housed the Voice of America.[4]
