It is open to middle and high school students who display a high-intermediate to advanced musical proficiency in any wind, brass or percussion instrument, as well as, a desire to enhance their ability in the instrumental performing arts. Winds features The Minors, a middle-school ensemble designed for entry-level and intermediate. Winds also has The Majors, an ensemble for advanced and experienced musicians.[2] Winds offers Tuesday rehearsal starting in September thru May. Winds has three concerts for each year. There is a winter concert, spring concert, and a concert in which students get to perform at a various location.[3] Winds works closely with many local schools to augment the musical instruction being provided, and to afford youth musicians the opportunity to play high-profile performances in their own communities, such as the Lesher Center for the Performing Arts.[4] Member schoolsMember organizations include: {{div col|colwidth=25em}}
