On March 8, 2011, the United States House of Representatives created the short-lived 'Wounded to Work' Congressional Caucus'[1] under the leadership of Congressmen Mike Conaway (R-TX),[2] Robert Andrews (D-NJ),[3] Scott Rigell (R-VA) [4] and Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo (D-GM).[5] The stated purpose of the Wounded to Work Caucus was to provide support for the creation and development of education and training programs within the private sector in order to expand the employability of participating military personnel. The Wounded to Work Caucus dissolved after a single term.

The program was initiated by convicted criminal Edward Tj Gerety and Gary Goosman.
