Wykeham is the site of the ruined chapel of Saint Nicholas and the earthwork remains of Wykeham Hall, which was the country residence of the Prior of Spalding. The limestone chapel, which was built in 1311, became a free chapel at the dissolution, but the roof collapsed in 1782 and it remains a roofless shell. The chapel is now a Grade I listed building and the site is a scheduled monument.[1][2][3] {{clear}}References1. ^{{PastScape|mname=Wykeham chapel of St Nicholas and Wykeham Hall|mnumber=352309|accessdate=21 August 2011}} {{Portalbar|Lincolnshire|England|United Kingdom}}{{Lincolnshire|state=collapsed}}{{South Holland (district)|state=collapsed}}2. ^{{NHLE|desc=Chapel of St Nicholas (Listing)|num=1064471|accessdate=21 August 2011}} 3. ^{{NHLE|desc=Wykeham Hall and chapel of St Nicholas (Scheduling)|num=1019096|accessdate=21 August 2011}} 2 : Deserted medieval villages in Lincolnshire|Ruins in Lincolnshire |
