In Japan, {{nihongo|yaeba|八重歯||{{lit.}} "double tooth"}} are human teeth, especially upper canines, with an uncommonly fang-like appearance. In Japan it is perceived as a sign of youthfulness.[1][2] In 2013 it had become a trend where teenage girls would undergo dental procedures to cap the upper canines.[3] References1. ^Margo DeMello, Faces around the World, pp. 63–64, {{ISBN|1598846183}} {{Japan-culture-stub}}2. ^Tom Moynihan, Perfect.: The Encyclopedia of Perfection, "Pointy, pearly whites", p. 170, {{ISBN|1440540195}} 3. ^http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/02/01/yaeba-japanese-double-tooth-trend-expensive-crooked-smile_n_2596720.html 2 : Teeth|Japanese culture |
