She is the daughter of fencing coaches Vladimir and Natalya Dyachenko and the sister of Aleksey Dyachenko, who won the bronze medal as a member of the Russian team in the men's team sabre at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. CareerIn the women's individual sabre at Beijing 2008, Dyachenko first defeated Japan's Madoka Hisagae in the table of 32, before losing out her next match to Ukraine's Olena Khomrova, with a sudden death score of 14–15.[2] Few days later, she joined with her fellow fencers and teammates Ekaterina Fedorkina, Elena Nechaeva and Sofiya Velikaya for the women's team sabre. Dyachenko and her team won the fifth place match against the Polish team (led by Aleksandra Socha), with a total score of 45 touches.[3] References1. ^{{cite sports-reference|Yekaterina Dyachenko|https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/dy/yekaterina-dyachenko-1.html|3 January 2013}} 2. ^{{cite web|title=Women's Individual Sabre – Round of 16 |url=http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/fencing/resultsandschedules/rsc=FEW003400/index.html |publisher=NBC Olympics |accessdate=3 January 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20130330101838/http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/fencing/resultsandschedules/rsc%3DFEW003400/index.html |archivedate=30 March 2013 |df= }} 3. ^{{cite web|title=Women's Team Sabre – Placement 5–6 Official |url=http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/fencing/resultsandschedules/rsc=FEW403100/index.html |publisher=NBC Olympics |accessdate=3 January 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120820214759/http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/fencing/resultsandschedules/rsc%3DFEW403100/index.html |archivedate=20 August 2012 |df= }} External links{{Commonscat}}
