For the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest, the UK entered "No Dream Impossible", performed by Lindsay D. It received 28 points and 15th place.

National final

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) continued to use a national final, A Song for Europe, to select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, continuing with the format of a radio semi-final with eight songs, with the top four songs, selected by televoting, progressing to the televised final.

Semi-final

The UK semi-final was held on BBC Radio 2 on 26 January, hosted by Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce. The top 4 songs were chosen by televoting. Although the voting results are unknown, it is rumoured that Tony Moore won.
