Yorktown Education is a Texas not-for-profit corporation. They provide advanced education for students ages 5 – 18 years old. Celebrating their 10th year of providing proven innovative, highly accredited educational programs they teach students and create the foundation for a successful life after graduation, doing what they love and achieving their full potential.

At Yorktown a student's education is customized to fit his or her own unique learning style, strengths, and interests. Yorktown understands that no two students are alike and takes great strides in creating a curriculum that fosters this approach. Yorktown is a place where students can reach their highest potential, cultivate a love of learning and innovation, develop self-confidence, pursue creative and academic interests, and lead purposeful lives.

History

The school was founded in 2008 by Randall Reiners who wanted a new way of educating students that allows them to achieve at an accelerated pace that best suits their abilities. Mr. Reiners spent over four years studying the education industry before launching Yorktown Education.[1] He was not thrilled with the education his son was receiving in a public school and felt that the private schools he saw were either not reflecting what was needed in today's business environment or too cost prohibitive. “Today’s American educational system is outdated and uncompetitive,” he said. “Basically, I determined we needed to find a new way to educate kids.”[2]

Yorktown Today

Yorktown Education currently sits on its campus in Plano, Texas after outgrowing its location on the Southern Methodist Campus. The school has just opted to expand in their current location.

The school is accredited by AdvancED and a member of the Educational Research Bureau. Yorktown Education follows a semester system with individualized learning programs, flexible scheduling and dual college credit. While not having a football team, the Yorktown Education activities include going to museums locally and in Texas.

Tuition

The tuition averages $15,000 for students (not including books). Financial aid is granted on the basis of family need and the school's availability of funds. Yorktown Education was designed to become the first of a national chain of small, high-quality private schools priced at half the cost per student of today's public school system and most private institutions. Tuition for international students is a total fee of $22,000 and applies to each international student.[3]
