The area of the district is {{convert|1341|km2|sp=us}}.{{citation needed|date=January 2012}} Its administrative center is the town of Yuzha.[2] Population: {{ru-census2010|25,728|;}} 28,793 (2002 Census);[3] {{su-census1989|33,792|.}} The population of Yuzha accounts for 55.1% of the district's total population. Administrative and municipal statusThe town of Yuzha serves as the administrative center of the district.[2] Prior to the adoption of the Law #145-OZ On the Administrative-Territorial Division of Ivanovo Oblast in December 2010, it was administratively incorporated separately from the district.
