Zagtoon is the TV division of Univergroup, a global independent animation studio. Since inception, the company has produced almost 200 half-hours of CGI-animated content licensed to major broadcasters and digital partners in over 130 territories. The company is most well-known for its animation, Miraculous, Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir).

History

Zagtoon was founded in France in 2010 by Jeremy Zag and SIP Animation co-founder Jacqueline Tordjman as an Univergroup subsidiary.[1] In 2012, SamG Korea animation studio merged with the company; thus changed their name to Sam Zag.[2] The company in October 2013 signed a three year first-look distribution deal with PGS Entertainment with the first series under the deal was Ghostforce.[3]

Univergroup

Univergroup is the parent company of Zagtoon and Zagtoon Pictures.

Univergroup was founded in France in 2008 by Jeremy Zag and SIP Animation co-founder Jacqueline Tordjman. In 2012, Univergroup set up Zagtoon Pictures to make S3D animated features under Jeremy Zag. While its Zagtoon unit merged with SamG Korea animation studio thusly renamed Sam Zag.[2]
