It is one of the segments of the Xulan high-speed railway, a high-speed mainline from Lanzhou to Xuzhou, paralleling the existing Longhai Railway line. Presently, the existing Xuzhou-Zhengzhou line is used e.g. by passenger trains traveling from Shanghai and Nanjing to Xi'an, Lanzhou, and points west. The line began construction in December 2012,[2] and began operation on 10 September 2016. StationsThe railway will have 9 stations:[2]
