She is a flagship columnist for The Sunday Telegraph[1] where she writes every week with her take on the news of the week and key issues of the day, often analysing matters to do with gender, feminism, dating, relationships, and identity politics. Early lifeStrimpel was born into a Jewish family in London in 1982.[2][3] She grew up in Boston in the US, but moved back to England at age 16 to attend Bedales School.[2][4] EducationStrimpel studied English at Jesus College, Cambridge,[5][6] and was an editor of The Cambridge Student for the 2004 Lent term.[7] She received her MPhil (with Distinction) in Gender Studies at Wolfson College, Cambridge[8] with a thesis entitled Meat Market or Brave New World: How women go shopping for dates online, which analysed the degree to which the internet was delivering on its liberatory promise for women looking for love online.[9] She completed her PhD at University of Sussex with a thesis entitled The matchmaking industry and singles culture in Britain, 1970-2000, the first full account of mediated dating in Britain in the decades before the Internet became normalised.[9][10] CareerAuthorStrimpel is the author of What the Hell is He Thinking?: All the Questions You've Ever Asked About Men Answered,[11][4] which was published in July 2010. It is aimed at providing an insight into men's thinking, researched by Strimpel interviewing men. Her second book, The Man Diet: One Woman's Quest to End Bad Romance was published on 22 December 2011.[12][4] Both books received positive reviews from critics[13][14][15] and press coverage.[2][3][16] JournalistStrimpel originally wrote for The Times[17] as a freelancer. From 2006, she was the author of the Girl about town column in The London Paper,[6] a now-defunct free daily newspaper. From 2008 to 2010, she was the Lifestyle Editor of City AM, a business-orientated London daily newspaper. She oversaw its coverage of food & drink, books, fashion, beauty, health, interviews, and property.[18] She has also written on relations between men and women for Elle,[19] the Sunday Times Style magazine,[6] and HuffPost.[20] She currently writes a weekly column for The Sunday Telegraph.[1][21][22] She also periodically contributes to The Jewish Chronicle.[23] CommentatorStrimpel appears regularly on radio and television as a commentator to discuss topics such as dating, feminism, and diversity.[24][25][26] Her piece in The Sunday Telegraph on the #MeToo movement[27] led to appearances on The BBC[28] and Al Jazeera[29] to discuss the matter. She appeared in the HBO documentary Hooking Up in the Digital Age to discuss online dating apps.[30][31] References1. ^1 {{cite web | url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/authors/zoe-strimpel/| title=The Telegraph, Articles}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Strimpel, Zoe}}2. ^1 2 {{Cite news|url=https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/london-men-playboys-or-losers-7307422.html|title=London men: playboys or losers|author=|date=2012-01-13|work=Evening Standard|access-date=2018-01-27|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=}} 3. ^1 {{Cite news|url=https://www.thejc.com/lifestyle/interviews/interview-zoe-strimpel-1.31301|title=Interview: Zoe Strimpel|last=Round|first=Simon|date=2012-01-26|work=The Jewish Chronicle|access-date=2018-01-27|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=}} 4. ^1 2 {{cite web |url= https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zoe-Strimpel/e/B004XIO5HO |title=Amazon UK, Zoe Strimpel Page}} 5. ^{{cite web |title=Cambridge University Student Union Bulletin Lent 2010-11 |URL= https://www.cusu.co.uk/bulletin/2010-2011/lent/week4 |access-date=2019-02-03}} 6. ^1 2 {{cite web |title= The People's Book Prize Website| url = http://www.archive.peoplesbookprize.com/Extracts/i534.extract.pdf|date=2010-04-20}} 7. ^{{Cite news|url=https://archive.varsity.co.uk/600.pdf|title=TCS in letter faking scam?|date=2004-04-30|work=Varsity|access-date=2018-02-12}} 8. ^The Wolfson Review, 2012-2013 no. 37, Wolfson College, Cambridge, p. 32 9. ^1 {{cite web | url=https://sussex.academia.edu/ZoeStrimpel/CurriculumVitae| title=University of Sussex, Zoe Strimpel}} 10. ^{{Cite news|url=http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/life/family-relationships-and-sex/are-tinder-users-less-likely-to-commit-to-relationships-20160115-gm6qjr.html|title=Are Tinder users less likely to commit to relationships?|last=Ward|first=Mary|date=2016-01-25|work=The Sydney Morning Herald|access-date=2018-01-27|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=}} 11. ^{{cite book |last=Strimpel |first=Zoe |date=2011-11-30 |title=The Man Diet: One woman’s quest to end bad romance |url=http://www.harpercollins.com.au/9781847563064/ |publisher=Harper Collins |isbn=9781847563064}} 12. ^{{cite book |last=Strimpel |first=Zoe |date=2010-07-01 |title=What the Hell is He Thinking?: All the Questions You've Ever Asked About Men Answered |url=https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/133056/what-the-hell-is-he-thinking/ |publisher=Penguin Books|isbn=9780141049380}} 13. ^{{Cite magazine|url=http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/zoe-strimpel-men-tips|title=Review: What The Hell Is He Thinking?|date=2010-06-29|access-date=2018-01-27|magazine=Glamour}} 14. ^{{Cite magazine|url=http://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/love-sex/g1767/what-the-hell-is-he-thinking-102934/|title=What The Hell Is He Thinking?
