It was Zynga’s first licensed game and a partnership with classic gambling game Slingo.[1][2] The game was available in 14 languages, including English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Danish, German, Swedish, and Norwegian.[3] Zynga Slingo was shut down on August 27, 2013. GameplayPlayers clicked "spin" and matched numbers to fill a slingo card. They could increase their score by earning balls and coins. Players got a "slingo" by matching five numbers vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Players could wager their points — the whole loot or just a percentage — and flip the devil-vs-cherub coin to potentially win big or lose it all. Players could give other players power-ups or act as a Joker.[4] They could also chat with one another in the chat panel. Zynga added a "Play with Friends" button to the game, which eventually let players compete for high scores based on the same board.[5] References1. ^Sara Lee, Zynga Slingo Review, DotMMO, March 15, 2012. 2. ^Mike Rose, Zynga launches first licensed game Zynga Slingo, Gamasutra, 15 February 2012. 3. ^Kate Freeman, Zynga Slingo Combines Past and Present in New Social Game, Mashable, 15 February 2012. 4. ^Larry Frum, 'Slingo' game comes to Facebook, CNN, 15 February 2012. 5. ^Hayley Tsukayama, [https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/zynga-adds-slingo-to-its-stable-of-games/2012/02/15/gIQADpG6FR_story.html Zynga adds Slingo to its stable of games], The Washington Post, 15 February 2012.
