According to mayor's page the original name was Çepni (referring to a branch of Oghuz Turks); but eventually the word Çepni was corrupted to Çetmi.[1] It is a secluded town situated in Toros Mountains at {{coord|36|53|N|32|37|E}}. The distance to Taşkent is {{convert|20|km}} and to Konya is {{convert|155|km}}.The sole road to the town passes through a narrow pass. The population of the town was 1281 [2] as of 2011.
