Throughout her career she played for Stade de Reims and VGA Saint-Maur. She was a member of the French national team between 1980 and her retirement in 1989 at 26.[1] In 1997 she was appointed the French national team's new manager. Under her tenance France qualified for the 2003 World Cup[2] and the 2001 and 2005 European Championships. She was sacked after France failed to qualify for the 2007 World Cup.[3] That same year she was signed by the Chinese Football Association as China's manager for the 2008 Summer Olympics.[4] However, she was sacked five months from the tournament, following a disappointing performance in the 2008 Algarve Cup.[5] She currently leads the Committee for Women's Football and the FIFA Women's World Cup in the French Football Federation.[6] References1. ^Statistics {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120730031838/http://www.fff.fr/individus/selections/visu_fiche.php?in_no=170001172&id_cat=2 |date=2012-07-30 }} in the French Football Federation's website {{France Squad 2001 UEFA Women's European Championship}}{{France Squad 2003 Women's World Cup}}{{France Squad 2005 UEFA Women's European Championship}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Loisel, Elisabeth}}{{France-women-footy-bio-stub}}2. ^[https://www.fifa.com/tournaments/archive/womensworldcup/usa2003/news/newsid=33514.html Loisel: "We aim to reach the quarter-finals"] FIFA 3. ^Bruno Bini sélectionneur des Bleues French Football Federation 4. ^France's Loisel to lead China UEFA 5. ^La Française Elisabeth Loisel remplacée par Shang Ruihua FIFA 6. ^[https://www.fifa.com/associations/association=fra/footballofficials/committee/committeemembers.html List of FFF's committee members] in FIFA's website 11 : 1963 births|Living people|People from Meaux|French women's footballers|France women's international footballers|French football managers|China women's national football team managers|2003 FIFA Women's World Cup managers|Female association football managers|Women's association football defenders|Sportspeople from Seine-et-Marne |
