}} The Ökoinstitut Südtirol/Alto Adige (in English: Ecoinstitute South Tyrol) is a non-governmental environmental organization with the aim to promote a sustainable development. It was founded in 1989 by Hans Glauber among others and is active at the national and international level. Its areas of activity cover a number of fields, ranging from mobility, climate and energy to the organization of awareness-raising measures. Among other projects, the institute organizes the Car-Free Days in South Tyrol and is responsible for the bicycle mobility concept of the flagship-city Bolzano or the developmental cooperation about the spreading of solarthermics.
