He replaced original lead singer Lou Gramm after the latter had parted company in 1990. Unusual Heat was the last album to feature bass guitarist Rick Wills, who joined the band in 1979, and drummer Dennis Elliott, who was a founding member. Unusual Heat was a huge commercial failure, only peaking at number 117 on the Billboard 200 chart – a sharp decline in sales comparing with all previous albums, all of which reached the Top 20 and became at least Platinum. Neither of the two singles released from the album charted on the Billboard Hot 100, however, "Lowdown and Dirty" was a number 4 Mainstream Rock chart hit.Track listing{{Track listing| total_length = 51:30 | all_writing = Mick Jones, Johnny Edwards, and Terry Thomas, except where noted | title1 = Only Heaven Knows | length1 = 4:47 | title2 = Lowdown and Dirty | length2 = 4:21 | title3 = I'll Fight for You | length3 = 6:02 | title4 = Moment of Truth | length4 = 4:25 | title5 = Mountain of Love | length5 = 4:37 | title6 = Ready for the Rain | writer6 = Edwards, Jeff Northrup, Jones, Thomas | length6 = 5:02 | title7 = When the Night Comes Down | length7 = 4:43 | title8 = Safe in My Heart | writer8 = Jones | length8 = 4:32 | title9 = No Hiding Place | length9 = 3:55 | title10 = Flesh Wound | length10 = 4:17 | title11 = Unusual Heat | length11 = 4:32 }} PersonnelForeigner
