This was their last year as an independent. They joined the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) in 1946. The team was led by first-year head coach Ronnie Henderson (in his only year as head coach) and played home games at Mustang Stadium in San Luis Obispo, California. They finished the season with a record of one win, five losses and one tie (1–5–1). Overall, the Mustangs outscored their opponents 19–180 for the season, including four consecutive shutout losses.
