The season was played from August to December 1963, culminating in the eighth annual NAIA Football National Championship, played this year at Hughes Stadium in Sacramento, California. During its three years in Sacramento, the game was called the Camellia Bowl (separate from the present day bowl game with the same name in Montgomery, Alabama). Saint John's (MN) defeated Prairie View A&M in the championship game, 33–27, to win their first NAIA national title.[1]Postseason{{4TeamBracket| RD1 = Semifinals December 7, 1963 | RD2 = Championship December 14, 1963 Camellia Bowl[2] | seed-width = | team-width = | score-width = | RD1-seed1 = | RD1-team1 = Prairie View A&M | RD1-score1 = 20 | RD1-seed2 = | RD1-team2 = Kearney State* | RD1-score2 = 7 | RD1-seed3 = | RD1-team3 = College of Emporia | RD1-score3 = 0 | RD1-seed4 = | RD1-team4 = Saint John's (MN)* | RD1-score4 = 54 | RD2-seed1 = | RD2-team1 = Prairie View A&M | RD2-score1 = 27 | RD2-seed2 = | RD2-team2 = Saint John's (MN) | RD2-score2 = 33 }} See also
