The 1978 Fresno State Bulldogs football team represented California State University, Fresno[1] during the 1978 NCAA Division I-A football season as a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association.[2] The team was led by head coach Bob Padilla, in his first year, and played their home games at Ratcliffe Stadium on the campus of Fresno City College in Fresno, California. They finished the season with a record of three wins and eight losses (3–8, 1–4 PCAA).
