The Titans competed in the Big West Conference. The team was led by thirteenth-year head coach Gene Murphy and played home games at the new on-campus Titan Sports Complex. They finished the season with two wins and nine losses (2–9, 0–6 Big West), and last in the Big West Conference for the third consecutive year. For the year, the Titans set an NCAA record for most fumbles in a season (71) and most fumbles lost in a season (41). Citing financial pressure, Cal State Fullerton dropped intercollegiate football after the 1992 season.[1][2] Schedule{{CFB schedule| rankyear = no | poll = no |{{CFB schedule entry | date = September 5 | w/l = w | nonconf = y | opponent = Cal State Northridge | site_stadium = Titan Sports Complex | site_cityst = Fullerton, California | score = 28–7 | attend = 8,279[3] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = September 12 | w/l = l | nonconf = y | away = y | opponent = UCLA | site_stadium = Rose Bowl | site_cityst = Pasadena, California | score = 14–37 | attend = 37,965[4] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = September 19 | w/l = l | nonconf = y | away = y | opponent = Georgia | opprank = 19 | site_stadium = Sanford Stadium | site_cityst = Athens, Georgia | score = 0–56 | attend = 75,515[5] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = September 26 | w/l = l | nonconf = y | opponent = Sacramento State [6] | site_stadium = Titan Sports Complex | site_cityst = Fullerton, California | score = 3–29 | attend = 4,154[7] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = October 3 | w/l = l | opponent = {{cfb link|year=1992|team=Nevada Wolf Pack|title=Nevada}} | site_stadium = Titan Sports Complex | site_cityst = Fullerton, California | score = 0–19 | attend = 4,680[8] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = October 10 | w/l = l | away = y | opponent = San Jose State | site_stadium = Spartan Stadium | site_cityst = San Jose, California | score = 3–49 | attend = 13,407[9] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = October 17 | w/l = w | nonconf = y | away = y | opponent = {{cfb link|year=1992|team=Southwestern Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns|title=Southwestern Louisiana}} [10] | site_stadium = Cajun Field | site_cityst = Lafayette, Louisiana | score = 14–10[11] | attend = 15,137[12] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = October 31 | w/l = l | opponent = {{cfb link|year=1992|team=Utah State Aggies|title=Utah State}} | site_stadium = Titan Sports Complex | site_cityst = Fullerton, California | score = 7–26 | attend = 2,113[13] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = November 7 | w/l = l | away = y | opponent = Pacific (CA) | site_stadium = Stagg Memorial Stadium | site_cityst = Stockton, California | score = 20–23 | attend = 7,412[14] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = November 14 | w/l = l | away = y | opponent = {{cfb link|year=1992|team=New Mexico State Aggies|title=New Mexico State}} | site_stadium = Aggie Memorial Stadium | site_cityst = Las Cruces, New Mexico | score = 31–44 | attend = 12,821[15] }} |{{CFB schedule entry | date = November 28 | w/l = l | away = y | opponent = {{cfb link|year=1992|team=UNLV Rebels|title=UNLV}} | site_stadium = Sam Boyd Silver Bowl | site_cityst = Whitney, Nevada | score = 16–33 | attend = 3,507[16] }} }}[17][18] Team players in the NFLNo Cal State Fullerton Titans were selected in the 1993 NFL Draft.[19][20] Notes1. ^{{cite news|title=CS Fullerton Drops Football for '93 Season|newspaper=The Los Angeles Times|location=Los Angeles, California|edition=Orange County|author=Mike DiGiovanna|date=December 8, 1992|page=A1|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/8927818/cs_fullerton_drops_football_for_93/|via=Newspapers.com|access-date=February 13, 2017}}{{Open access}} 2. ^{{cite news|title=Titans: Cal State Fullerton Drops Football Program|newspaper=The Los Angeles Times|location=Los Angeles, California|edition=Orange County|author=Mike DiGiovanna|date=December 8, 1992|page=A38|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/8927863/titans_cal_state_fullerton_drops/|via=Newspapers.com|access-date=February 13, 2017}}{{Open access}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Titans Celebrate Grand Opening|newspaper=The Los Angeles Times|location=Los Angeles, California|edition=Orange County|author=Mike DiGiovanna|date=September 6, 1992|page=CC1|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/8924207/titans_celebrate_grand_opening/|via=Newspapers.com|access-date=February 13, 2017}}{{Open access}} 4. ^{{cite news|title=Bruins Suffer Big Loss in Victory Over Titans|newspaper=The Los Angeles Times|location=Los Angeles, California|author=Chris Baker|date=September 13, 1992|page=CC1|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/8924303/bruins_suffer_big_loss_in_victory_over/|via=Newspapers.com|access-date=February 13, 2017}}{{Open access}} 5. ^{{cite news|title=Titans Fumble Away Any Hopes for Upset|newspaper=The Los Angeles Times|location=Los Angeles, California|author=Ray Glier|date=September 20, 1992|page=C-7|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/8927124/titans_fumble_away_any_hopes_for_upset/|via=Newspapers.com|access-date=February 13, 2017}}{{Open access}} 6. ^ The official name of Sacramento State has been California State University, Sacramento since 1972.
