词条 | 1995 Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council election |
释义 |
The first election to Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council following the re-organization of local government in Wales was held on 4 May 1995.[1] It was followed by the 1999 elections. On the same day there were elections to the other 21 local authorities in Wales and community councils in Wales. Labour won a vast majority of the seats.[2] {{TOC right}}OverviewAll council seats were up for election. These were the first elections held following local government reorganisation and the abolition of Mid Glamorgan County Council. The ward boundaries for the new authority were based on the previous Merthyr Tydfil Borough Council. {{Election Summary Begin|title = Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council election result 1995}}{{Election Summary Party||party = Labour Party (UK) |seats = 29 |gain = |loss = |net = |seats % = |votes % = |votes = |plus/minus = }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Conservative Party (UK) |seats = 0 |gain = |loss = |net = |seats % = |votes % = |votes = |plus/minus = }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Liberal Democrats (UK) |seats = 0 |gain = |loss = |net = |seats % = |votes % = |votes = |plus/minus = }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Plaid Cymru |seats = 0 |gain = |loss = |net = |seats % = |votes % = |votes = |plus/minus = }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Green Party of England and Wales |seats = 0 |gain = |loss = |net = |seats % = |votes % = |votes = |plus/minus = }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Independent (politician) |seats = 2 |gain = |loss = |net = |seats % = |votes % = |votes = |plus/minus = }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Independent Residents |seats = 2 |gain = |loss = |net = |seats % = |votes % = |votes = |plus/minus = }} |} ResultsBedlinog (two seats){{Election box begin | title= Bedlinog 1995}}{{Election box candidate with party link||party = Labour Party (UK) |candidate = H.
