The 2016 Chicago White Sox season was the club's 117th season in Chicago and 116th in the American League. The White Sox wore a black diamond patch on the uniform in honor of the late Eddie Einhorn, minority owner of the team. They finished the season in fourth place in the AL Central.

The White Sox tied a major league record for most home runs by a losing team when they hit seven homers in a 10–8 defeat to Toronto on June 25.[2]
