The 2018 North Korean floods began on 28 August 2018, killing so far at least 76 people while 75 more are missing, and destroying more than 800 buildings and leaving 10,700 people homeless.[1]

The most affected area are the North and South Hwanghae provinces, where volunteers from the national Red Cross are conducting search and rescue operations.[2] Landslides also occurred after the floods and thousands of people need of health services, shelter, food, safe drinking water and sanitation.[3]
