The 2018 Oldham Council election took place on 3 May 2018 to elect members of Oldham Council in England.[1] The election took place on the same day as other local elections in England. The election saw the majority Labour Party increase its number of seats by two. The Conservative Party also gained two seats, while the Liberal Democrats lost one seat. UKIP ceased to have representation on the council following this election.[2] The election left Labour with 47 seats, the Liberal Democrats 8 and the Conservatives 4 with the remaining seat being held by an Independent.[3] ResultsLabour Party: 29,876 Conservative Party: 11,761 Liberal Democrats: 8,208 Green Party: 1,754 Independent: 1,788 Liberal Party: 217 CandidatesAlexandra ward{{Election box begin | title=Alexandra}}{{Election box candidate with party link||party = Labour Party (UK) |candidate = Shaid Mushtaq |votes = 1455 |percentage = 53 |change = }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Liberal Democrats (UK) |candidate = Liaqat Ali |votes = 812 |percentage = 30 |change = }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Conservative Party (UK) |candidate = Luke Lancaster |votes = 322 |percentage = 12 |change = }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Green Party of England and Wales |candidate = David Maybury |votes = 132 |percentage = 5 |change = }}{{Election box end}} Chadderton Central ward (two seats due to vacancy){{Election box begin | title=Chadderton Central}}{{Election box candidate with party link||party = Labour Party (UK) |candidate = Colin McLaren |votes = 1650 |percentage = 69 |change = }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Labour Party (UK) |candidate = Elaine Taylor |votes = 1499 |percentage = 63 |change = }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Conservative Party (UK) |candidate = Mohammed Shah Jahan |votes = 488 |percentage = 20 |change = }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Conservative Party (UK) |candidate = Mohammed Shahriyar M.
