The 2018 Scottish Women's Premier League season is the 17th season of the Scottish Women's Premier League, the highest division of women's football in Scotland since its inception in 2002. The Premier League is split into two divisions of eight teams each. The divisions are named SWPL 1 and SWPL 2. Glasgow City had won the 2017 SWPL1 title unbeaten. It was their eleventh consecutive championship.[1] They retained the title on the last matchday of the 2018 season. Hamilton were relegated, while the promoted team was their Lanarkshire rivals, Motherwell.[2] Teams{{Location map+ |Scotland South|width=300 |float=right |caption=Locations of teams in the 2018 SWPL1 |places={{Location map~ |Scotland South|lat=55.748595 |long=-4.150021 |position=bottom|label=Celtic}}{{Location map~ |Scotland South|lat=55.9709807 |long=-3.2344497 |position=right |label=Hibernian}}{{Location map~ |Scotland South|lat=56.64423 |long=-2.88842 |position=right |label=Forfar}}{{Location map~ |Scotland South|lat=55.858 |long=-4.259 |position=top|label=Glasgow C}}{{Location map~ |Scotland South|lat=55.7776 |long=-4.0537 |position=right |label=Hamilton}}{{Location map~ |Scotland South|lat=55.8524461 |long=-4.3289664 |position=left|label=Rangers}}{{Location map~ |Scotland South|lat=55.9709807 |long=-3.2344497 |position=top |label=Spartans}}{{Location map~ |Scotland South|lat=56.117 |long=-3.939 |position=top |label=Stirling Uni.}} }}{{Location map+ |Scotland Central Belt|width=300 |float=right |caption=Locations of teams in the 2018 SWPL2 |places={{Location map~ |Scotland Central Belt|lat=57.171 |long=-2.153 |position=left |label=Aberdeen}}{{Location map~ |Scotland Central Belt|lat=56.116 |long=-3.781 |position=left |label=Central}}{{Location map~ |Scotland Central Belt|lat=55.931 |long=-3.155 |position=top |label=EUHV}}{{Location map~ |Scotland Central Belt|lat=55.856 |long=-4.174 |position=left |label=Glasgow G.}}{{Location map~ |Scotland Central Belt|lat=55.890 |long=-3.075 |position=right |label=Hearts}}{{Location map~ |Scotland Central Belt|lat=55.604 |long=-4.510 |position=left |label=Kilmarnock}}{{Location map~ |Scotland Central Belt|lat=55.791 |long=-3.964 |position=bottom |label=Motherwell}}{{Location map~ |Scotland Central Belt|lat=56.409 |long=-3.479 |position=right |label=St Johnstone}} }}SWPL 1 Team | Location | Home ground | Capacity | 2017 position |
