with a 3–1 victory over their city rivals. On 19 August, Celtic were drawn to face St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in the quarter-finals.[8] The Bhoys' trophy defence continued courtesy of a late Leigh Griffiths strike in Perth. On 26 September, Celtic were drawn to face Heart of Midlothian in the semi-finals.[9] Goals from Scott Sinclair, James Forrest and Ryan Christie secured Celtic's place in the final, a third consecutive League Cup final and fifth consecutive domestic cup final in Brendan Rodgers' reign. On 2 December, Celtic won the Scottish League Cup for the third consecutive season, defeating Aberdeen 1–0 in the final. {{footballbox collapsible|round = Second Round |date = 18 August 2018 |team1 = Partick Thistle |score = 1–3 |report = [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45189053 BBC Sport] Celtic Report |team2 = Celtic |goals1 = Mbuyi-Mutombo {{goal|73}} |goals2 = Griffiths {{goal|18}} Dembélé {{goal|78}} Rogic {{goal|80}} |stadium = Firhill Stadium |location = Glasgow |attendance = 6,350 |referee = Craig Thomson |result = W }}{{footballbox collapsible |round = Quarter-Finals |date = 26 September 2018 |team1 = St Johnstone |score = 0–1 |report = [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45607018 BBC Sport] Celtic Report |team2 = Celtic |goals1 = |goals2 = Griffiths {{goal|83}} |stadium = McDiarmid Park |location = Perth |attendance = 5,635 |referee = John Beaton |result = W }}{{footballbox collapsible |round = Semi-Finals |date = 28 October 2018 |team1 = Heart of Midlothian |score = 0–3 |report = [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45933999 BBC Sport] Celtic Report |team2 = Celtic |goals1 = |goals2 = Sinclair {{goal|53|pen.}} Forrest {{goal|66}} Christie {{goal|72}} |stadium = Murrayfield Stadium |location = Edinburgh |attendance = 61,161 |referee = Willie Collum |result = W }}{{footballbox collapsible |round = Final |date = 2 December 2018 |team1 = Celtic |score = 1–0 |report = [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46337733 BBC Sport] Celtic Report |team2 = Aberdeen |goals1 = Christie {{goal|45+5}} |goals2 = |stadium = Hampden Park |location = Glasgow |attendance = 50,936 |referee = Andrew Dallas |result = W }} Scottish Cup{{Main article|2018–19 Scottish Cup}}On 24 November, Celtic were drawn to face Airdrieonians at Celtic Park in the fourth round of the 2018–19 Scottish Cup.[10] A Scott Sinclair double and a debut goal for Timothy Weah secured a 3–0 win.[11] On 20 January 2019, Celtic were drawn to face St Johnstone in the fifth round.[12] Scott Sinclair's hat-trick was coupled by Scott Brown's first goal in two years, and a James Forrest strike, which sealed Celtic's place in the quarter-finals.[13] On 11 February, Celtic were drawn to face Hibernian at Easter Road in the quarter-finals.[14] Goals from James Forrest and Scott Brown secured Celtic's place in the semi-finals.[15] On 4 March, Celtic were drawn to face Aberdeen or Rangers in the semi-finals.[16] On 12 March, it was determined that Aberdeen would be Celtic's opponents, having defeated Rangers 2–0 in their quarter-final replay. {{footballbox collapsible|round = Fourth Round |date = 19 January 2019 |team1 = Celtic |score = 3–0 |report = [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46847909 BBC Sport] Celtic Report |team2 = Airdrieonians |goals1 = Sinclair {{goal|37||56}} Weah {{goal|83}} |goals2 = |stadium = Celtic Park |location = Glasgow |attendance = 29,941 |referee = Andrew Dallas |result = W }}{{footballbox collapsible |round = Fifth Round |date = 10 February 2019 |team1 = Celtic |score = 5–0 |report = [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47106087 BBC Sport] Celtic Report |team2 = St Johnstone |goals1 = Sinclair {{goal|3||54||89}} Brown {{goal|9}} Forrest {{goal|52}} |goals2 = |stadium = Celtic Park |location = Glasgow |attendance = 28,404 |referee = Nick Walsh |result = W }}{{footballbox collapsible |round = Quarter-Finals |date = 2 March 2019 |team1 = Hibernian |score = 0–2 |report = [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47340605 BBC Sport] Celtic Report |team2 = Celtic |goals1 = |goals2 = Forrest {{goal|62}} Brown {{goal|75}} |stadium = Easter Road |location = Edinburgh |attendance = 15,719 |referee = Willie Collum |result = W }}{{footballbox collapsible |round = Semi-Finals |date = 14 April 2019 |team1 = Aberdeen |score = |report = |team2 = Celtic |goals1 = |goals2 = |stadium = Hampden Park |location = Glasgow |attendance = |referee = |result = }} UEFA Champions League{{Main article|2018–19 UEFA Champions League}}Celtic entered the Champions League at the first qualifying round.
