The 2018–19 UEFA Youth League knockout phase (play-offs and round of 16 onwards) is scheduled to begin on 19 February and conclude on 29 April 2019 with the final at Colovray Stadium in Nyon, Switzerland, to decide the champions of the 2018–19 UEFA Youth League.[1] A total of 24 teams compete in the knockout phase (play-offs and round of 16 onwards).[2] Times are CET/CEST,{{refn|group=note|CET (UTC+1) for dates up to 30 March 2019 (play-offs and round of 16), and CEST (UTC+2) for dates thereafter (quarter-finals, semi-finals and final).}} as listed by UEFA (local times, if different, are in parentheses). Domestic Champions Path
FormatThe knockout phase (play-offs and round of 16 onwards), played as a single-elimination tournament, involves 24 teams: 16 teams which qualify from the UEFA Champions League Path (eight group winners and eight group runners-up), and eight teams which qualify from the Domestic Champions Path (eight second round winners):[2]
Each tie is played over a single match. If the score is tied after full time, the match is decided by a penalty shoot-out (no extra time is played).[2] On 17 July 2014, the UEFA emergency panel ruled that Ukrainian and Russian clubs would not be drawn against each other "until further notice" due to the political unrest between the countries.[3] ScheduleThe schedule is as follows (all draws are held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland).[1]
Play-offsThe draw for the play-offs was held on 17 December 2018, 14:15 CET (UTC+1), at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.[4] The eight second round winners from the Domestic Champions Path were drawn against the eight group runners-up from the UEFA Champions League Path, with the teams from the Domestic Champions Path hosting the match. Teams from the same association could not be drawn against each other. The play-offs were played on 19 and 20 February 2019. The eight play-off winners advanced to the round of 16, where they were joined by the eight group winners from the UEFA Champions League Path. {{OneLegStart}}{{OneLegResult|PAOK|GRE|0–1|Tottenham Hotspur|ENG}}{{OneLegResult|Dinamo Zagreb|CRO|1–1 {{pso|5–4}}|Lokomotiv Moscow|RUS}}{{OneLegResult|Dynamo Kyiv|UKR|3–0|Juventus|ITA}}{{OneLegResult|Chelsea|ENG|3–1|Monaco|FRA}}{{OneLegResult|Montpellier|FRA|2–1|Benfica|POR}}{{OneLegResult|Hertha BSC|GER|2–1|Paris Saint-Germain|FRA}}{{OneLegResult|Midtjylland|DEN|1–1 {{pso|4–2}}|Roma|ITA}}{{OneLegResult|Sigma Olomouc|CZE|0–2|Lyon|FRA}}|}{{Football box |id = PO 1 |date = {{Start date|2019|2|19|df=y}} |time = 18:00 {{small|(19:00 EET)}} |team1 = PAOK {{flagicon|GRE}} |score = 0–1 |team2 = {{flagicon|ENG}} Tottenham Hotspur |goals1 = |goals2 =
