词条 | 2021 Rugby League World Cup qualification – Repechage |
释义 |
The repechage round will include a world play-off match set to take place in October/November 2019 and will so far include the {{rlnt|United States}} coming up against a nation from the Asia/Pacific region. The winning team will directly qualify for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup. It was originally intended for the repechage round to include 3 nations; the Americas runner-up, 7th highest ranked Asia/Pacific nation and the 2nd highest ranked Middle-East/African nation. As of 19 November an African nation is yet to issue a formal intent to the RLIF and will thus be excluded from the qualification process. At the time of this announcement the Cook Islands was the highest ranked in the Asia/Pacific region but has since dropped behind 7 other Asia/Pacific nations due to inactivity but will most likely still quality due to participants being required to be either full or affiliate members of the RLIF and the Cook Islands being the sole remaining member from the region.
