In dark conditions, this molecule binds to RuBisCO, preventing it from participating in chemical reactions. As the amount of light present increases, CA1P levels decrease, freeing RuBisCO's reactive ends, allowing more of the molecules to participate in chemical reactions. It can be broken down by the enzyme 2-carboxy-D-arabinitol-1-phosphatase into 2-carboxy-D-arabinitol.[1] References1. ^{{cite journal| author=Servaites JC| title=Inhibition of ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase by 2-carboxyarabinitol-1-phosphate. | journal=Plant Physiol | year= 1990 | volume= 92 | issue= 4 | pages= 867-70 | pmid=16667398 | doi= | pmc=1062388 | url=https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/elink.fcgi?dbfrom=pubmed&tool=sumsearch.org/cite&retmode=ref&cmd=prlinks&id=16667398 }} {{DEFAULTSORT:Carboxy-D-arabitinol 1-phosphate, 2-}}{{medicinal-chem-stub}} 2 : Organophosphates|Enzyme inhibitors |
