}} | language = English | budget = | gross = }}47 Meters Down: Uncaged is an upcoming British-American survival horror film directed by Johannes Roberts and written by Ernest Riera.[1] It is a sequel to 47 Meters Down (2017), and is scheduled to be released on August 16, 2019 by Entertainment Studios.[2] SynopsisThe film follows the story of four teen girls diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean. Cast
ProductionIn September 2017, it was announced that production studio, The Fyzz Facility, is working on the sequel to 47 Meters Down titled 48 Meters Down, in which Johannes Roberts, Ernest Riera, and James Harris will both return as director/writer, co-writer, and producer, respectively.[6] The sequel will take place in Brazil and center around a group of young women who decide to explore some hidden underwater ruins located off-the-beaten trail. Production will be overseen by Altitude Film Sales, with potential buyers being sought in Toronto.[7] In August 2018, the film's first trailer was released with a new official title 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapter.[8] By December of the same year, it was announced that the final official title of the film's sequel is 47 Meters Down: Uncaged.
