BU Geminorum is a semiregular variable star, found southwest of M 35, below WY Geminorum, with magnitudes +5.7 to +7.5 v over a period of 325 days. At its brightest the star is barely visible to the naked eye but visible with binoculars. It has been given the sub-classification of Lc "Irregular variable supergiants of late spectral types having amplitudes of about 1 mag. in V.O".[1] References1. ^[https://www.aavso.org/vsx/index.php?view=about.vartypes Variable Star Type Designations in VSX]- Retrieved 2016-11-06 Vizier catalog entry[2][3][4][5][6][7]2. ^1 2 {{cite journal | author1=Mermilliod, J.-C. | title=Compilation of Eggen's UBV data, transformed to UBV (unpublished) | journal=Catalogue of Eggen's UBV data | url = http://cdsads.u-strasbg.fr/cgi-bin/nph-bib_query?1986EgUBV........0M&db_key=AST&nosetcookie=1 | date=1986 | bibcode= 1986EgUBV........0M }} 3. ^1 {{cite web|title=6 GEM|url=http://stars.astro.illinois.edu/sow/6gem.html|date=2012|accessdate=15 December 2016}} 4. ^1 2 3 {{cite journal|title=The Effective Temperature Scale of Galactic Red Supergiants: Cool, but Not As Cool As We Thought|author1=Levesque, Emily M.|date=2005|journal=The Astrophysical Journal|volume=628|issue=2|pages=973–985|bibcode=2005ApJ...628..973L|doi=10.1086/430901|arxiv=astro-ph/0504337}} 5. ^1 {{cite journal| title = A new stellar library in the region of the CO index at 2.3 μm.
