She was the first British Jew to compile a Hebrew-English dictionary. LifeLindo was born in London in 1803.[1] She was one of the eighteen children of David Abarbanel Lindo.[1] She came to prominence after she created an English-Hebrew dictionary for her own use. Encouraged by her uncle, she published her work in 1837.[2] She was the first British Jew to compile and publish a Hebrew-English dictionary.[1] The list was later extended.[3] One source says that ""A Hebrew-English and English-Hebrew Dictionary" by Lindo was published in 1846.[4] Lindo died in London in 1848.[3] References1. ^1 {{cite book|author1=W.
