释义 |
The Abner-Drury Brewery (1898-1936) was a brewery in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C.[1] Unlike many of the breweries in Washington, the brewery had a brewer of Irish descent, Peter Drury.[2] It was one of two pre-Prohibition breweries to re-open in Washington after Prohibition (along with the Christian Heurich Brewing Company). Given the changed landscape of brewing after Prohibition and the rise of national bottled shipping brewers, the Abner-Drury Brewery had trouble competing. It closed in 1936.[3] References1. ^{{cite book|last1=Tana|first1=Daniel|title=The last call : preserving Washington’s lost historic breweries.|date=2013|publisher=University of Maryland, Masters Thesis|pages=49, 67|url=http://drum.lib.umd.edu/handle/1903/14410|accessdate=August 22, 2017}} {{US-company-stub}}2. ^{{cite book|last1=Peck|first1=Garrett|title=Prohibition in Washington, D.C. : how dry we weren't|date=2011|publisher=History Press|location=Charleston, SC|isbn=1609492366|page=51}} 3. ^{{cite book|last1=Tana|first1=Daniel|title=The last call : preserving Washington’s lost historic breweries.|date=2013|publisher=University of Maryland, Masters Thesis|pages=49, 67|url=http://drum.lib.umd.edu/handle/1903/14410|accessdate=August 22, 2017}} 7 : Defunct brewery companies of the United States|1898 establishments in Washington, D.C.|1936 disestablishments in Washington, D.C.|American companies established in 1898|Food and drink companies disestablished in 1936|Foggy Bottom|Food and drink companies established in 1898 |
