It is also often confused with Acacia rubida[3] The species belongs to the Acacia microbotrya group and is closely related to Acacia kydrensis and similar to Acacia chalkeri and Acacia rubida.[4] DistributionIt is found along the Great Dividing Range in western parts of New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria where it is often a part of dry sclerophyll forest or open woodland communities[2] on rocky slopes and creek banks[4] growing in rocky soils.[2] The bulk of the population has a discontinuous distribution from around Walcha in the north down to the upper reaches of the Snowy River north-eastern Victoria.[4] See alsoList of Acacia speciesReferences1. ^{{cite web|url=https://austplants.com.au/Acacia-amoena|title=Acacia amoena Boomerang Wattle|accessdate=1 March 2019|publisher=Australian Plants Society NSW}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q14861094}}2. ^1 2 {{cite web|url=http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Acacia~amoena|title=Acacia amoena H.L.Wendl.|accessdate=1 March 2019|work=PlantNet|publisher=Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=https://bie.ala.org.au/species/http://id.biodiversity.org.au/instance/apni/847204#names|title=Acacia amoena H.L.Wendl.
