It is native to a small area on the Swan coastal plain and the Geraldton sandplain in Western Australia.[1] DescriptionThe shrub has a sprawling, straggly, rush-like habit. It grows to a height of {{convert|0.3|to|0.5|m|ft|1}}. It blooms between May and August producing yellow flowers.[1] The striate branches are green with yellow ribbing. The thin, horizontally flattened phyllodes resembling triangular scales are {{convert|1.5|to|4|mm|in|3}} in length. The simple inflorescences have globular heads with a diameter of about {{convert|8|mm|in|3|abbr=on}} containing 8 to 12 loosely packed flowers. After flowering shallowly curved seed pods that are {{convert|4|to|7|cm|in|1}} long and {{convert|8|to|10|mm|in|2|abbr=on}} wide. The oblong-elliptic seeds are {{convert|5|mm|in|3|abbr=on}} long.[2] TaxonomyThe species was first formally described by the botanist Bruce Maslin in 1995 as part of the workAcacia Miscellany 13.
