Accident Man is a 2018 British action-thriller film directed by Jesse V. Johnson, based on characters created by Pat Mills and Tony Skinner. The film stars Scott Adkins, Ashley Greene, Ray Stevenson, Michael Jai White and Ray Park. The film was released on 6 February 2018 in the United States and on 16 April 2018 in the United Kingdom. The film was released to positive reviews, with critics praising the action and Scott Adkins performance.

Plot

When Mike Fallon was 15 years old, he worked as a paperboy where he was bullied every day. One day while hiding he notices Big Ray planting a bomb which explodes near Mike and the bullies. After videorecording and spying on Big Ray for weeks Mike Fallon tells Big Ray that he wants to become an assassin like him. After Big Ray relents and teaches Mike how to kill his first victim (the main bully), Big Ray has pictures that Mike Fallon killed the bully, and warns Mike that should Mike ever betray Big Ray, Big Ray will release the pictures and kill Mike Fallon himself. He teaches Mike how to fight and become an assassin, and comes to look at Mike as a son.

Years later, Mike breaks up with his girlfriend Beth because Beth couldn't stand Mike's violent behavior, and she falls in love with a woman name Charlie. Mike is an assassin who stages his kills as mere accidents, hence his nick name "the Accident Man." While killing his target name Archie Rudd, Mike gets a call from Milton (Big Ray's partner) to meet him in an alley. While meeting in the alley, Mike is attacked by an Asian assassin, and kills him. Mike calls Mick on setting Mike up, but Mick hangs up.

The next day, Mike learns that Beth died, and that she was pregnant with his baby. While at the funeral, Charlie accuses Mike of his violent behavior. Mike steals police report, and learns that there was chemicals in her body. He deduces that only Mick and Mac were responsible due to their specialty in chemicals.

Mike confronts Mick and Mac, and they fight after Mac insults Mike's dead girlfriend. Mike defeats both of them, and heads to the Assassin Bar to ask Big Ray where is Milton. Big Ray refuses, saying that hurting Milton violates the three rules: don't be angry, don't get caught, and don't hurt Milton. Mike then goes to Beth's new apartment to find out why Beth was killed. Charlie comes in the room, and both Mike and Charlie argue when Carnage Cliff attacks Mike. Mike is forced to kill Carnage, and Mike convinces Charlie to tell him that Beth was researching for an oil company. Mike finds Milton, and tortures him to reveal the person who is responsible for Beth's death. Big Ray hears about Mike rebelling, and orders a hit on Mike.

While on route to meeting Leonard Kent, the man Milton said was responsible for Beth's death, Charlie meets Mike and its revealed that Archie Rudd told Beth about the illegal things the oil company has done, before being killed. Mike confronts Leonard Kent, but Leonard Kent told him that he isn't the one who ordered the kill on Beth, and he shows a recording device to prove it, but suddenly Mick and Mac appear and kill Leonard Kent in the ensuing chaos.

Mick accidentally kills Mac, and Mike kills Mick. He spares Finnicky Fred by knocking him out, and in the recording device Mike learns that Atal Zim was the one who ordered the hit. He goes to Atal Zim, where he fights and kills Jane. He then kills Atal Zim, and heads back to Big Ray.

When he arrives at the assassin pub, he meets Big Ray and Milton. Mike plays the rest of the recording, which shows that Milton schemed with Atal Zim to kill Beth, which caused Big Ray to be furious and savagely beat Milton. Milton begs for forgiveness, and Mike seemingly accepts it, giving him a band-aid that Finnick uses for poisoning. Milton takes it without realizing it, and slowly dies. Big Ray, angry that Mike killed most of the assassins, gets his shot gun and points it at Mike's face, but he doesn't shoot because he still cares for Mike. Big Ray tells Mike to get out of his pub and never come back. Mike leaves, and vows to protect the city in the shadows.

Production

The film went into production under LINK Entertainment and Six Demon Films's management. Scott Adkins produced, wrote the screenplay, and stars in this comic strip adaptation^[1]. Ashley Greene also joined the cast.^[2] The film was released on February 6, 2018.

Reception

On Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a score of 100% based on 5 reviews with an average rating of 7.5/10. ^[3]
